White Lines

I’m on the runway at Palma Mallorca airport and I’ve just come to the end of my first stint filming on my new project, White Lines for Netflix. I am lucky enough to get another summer in Spain. Last year it was Turn Up Charlie with Idris Elba, Piper Perabo and Jade Anouka, this year its with Laura Haddock, Danny Mays and Laurence Fox.

Starting a new job is always terrifying, doesn’t matter how long I’ve been doing this for I still suffer from Imposter syndrome. After the first couple of days filming the anxiety decreases slightly as I realise that they can longer fire me as we’ve shot too much, but the feeling of not quite being good enough or as good as everybody else always lingers.

Also when you start an entirely new project you have absolutely no idea whatsoever what you are making. Its a real leap of faith. I’m working for LeftBank Pictures (The Crown) and Vancouver Media (MoneyHeist), both with huge shows on Netflix so I know I’m in good hands but unless you have an executive producer role in a show, you have no idea what it is you’re making.

What I will say is that the cast is epic, the script is ace and Spain is hot!!! A real talented gang of actors from the UK and Europe. Laurence Fox I’ve worked with before on Lewis and Danny and me share lots of mutual friends. The Spanish cast are lovely, and thankfully their English is waaaaay better than my Spanish, but I’m working on that.

Its time to go back home now to see my family. They came out at the weekend as it was Tallulah’s birthday and we had a lovely time together. Tallulah has her mock exams coming up so I’m going in to full mother mode as I help and support her while she’s revising. Bless her, she was even revising on her sun lounger in Palma.
